About MeBooklet designed by Ian Hamilton Finlay, printed onto red, white and blue paper and stapled. The pages are printed with two poems, one entitled "A Litany for Prairial" and the other "A Requiem for Thermidor". The penultimate page contains a dedication to the Robespierrists who died on the Tenth Day of Thermidor: Arrosoir (Watering Can). Thermidor was the Month of Heat in the Republican Calendar, which was composed by the poet Fabre d'Eglantine in 1793.This work is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing, OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend and sent her an example of each new poem print and multiple as it was made.
