About MeNaomi McIntosh moved to London to study architecture when she was 18, at the Bartlett School, University College London and worked for Richard Rogers Architects and Moxon architects before progressing to the MA Design course at Central Saint Martins which she completed in 2010.

Inspiration for her work comes from a fascination with rock formations as well as the contours of the body. Construction, architectural methodologies and drawing conventions have also contributed to this unusual way of working. She uses new technologies to create her pieces, including CAD, 3D scanners and laser-cutting.

She chooses to work with wood and precious metals to highlight the contrast between the edge and the surface of the wood, in this case fine walnut. Although the piece looks precise and architectural in form, the materials and movement found in the piece create an organic feel.
More About Me
McIntosh’s jewellery tends to be very flexible, moving with the contours of the body. This necklace is made from walnut wood and gold vermeil (gold on a silver base).
