About MeOne of 99 drawings on 92 leaves of paper from a sketchbook used by William Williams.A pen and wash, with pencil drawing composed along a curve lower line. Christ is the central figure situated within a pencil drafted rectangular form, he appears slightly levatated as the undersoles of his feet can be completely seen. He is flanked to either side, but on a lower register, by two saints who also appear to be slightly elevated. Each saint is looking upwards to Christ, Moses is seen on the left hand side holding the tablets of the commandments, and Elijah on the right hand side.
A legend is hand written below the sketch which reads 'And behold there appeared unto them, Moses and Elijah taking with Him'
This drawing, along with 46 other leaves from the same sketchbook, is now untraced. Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums is keen to reunite the drawings as one album. If you have any information relating to the current whereabouts of this work please contact Aberdeen Art Gallery.
