About MeAs part of the public engagement activity that accompanied the display of The Great Tapestry of Scotland exhibition at Aberdeen Art Gallery in 2014 the creation of the community panel was proposed by Diane Stanley. Diane had participated in The Great Tapestry of Scotland project, stitching the Aberdeen panel as part of the Inverdon Stitchers group. She contacted local artist Shelagh Swanson to design the community panel and co-ordinated a team of volunteers to supervise the stitching of the panel, which took place in the exhibition at the Art Gallery. Over the course of the exhibition over 3000 people of all ages and from all parts of the world put stitches in the panel. It was later completed by Diane.
