About MeThis pendant is marked and stamped ‘D S Denmark’ and was probably designed in house for Dansk Smykkekunst of Bronshoj, Denmark. 40 years ago, all the jewellery was made in sterling silver and retailed only in Denmark but the Scandinavian company changed direction and now exhibits bi-annually with semi precious collections designed to enhance contemporary fashions.
The pendant relates to the Silver and Rock Crystal Pendant (ABDAG011468) by Julie Kvarekval of Norway from the 1960s/70s. There are similarities in both the treatment of the silver surface and the use of a small ball motif as part of the suspension.
Historically, the pendant is an obvious development to the Ann Macbeth silver pendant necklace (ABDAG011358).
