About MeAberdeen silversmith and jeweller Megan Falconer’s work is inspired by landscape, sea, water and erosion.
These Wave Hoops were inspired by photographs she had taken at the beach of where the sea comes up on the sand and then the tide goes out creating ripples on the sand.
These Wave Hoops were made using an old technique called lost wax casting. The artist carved away a block of wax to create the design and then it was cast in silver. The wax melted away in the kiln leaving a cavity that the silver was poured in to creating these earrings.
