About MeFrom 1942 to 1948 Michael Cardew worked in Africa at Volta Pottery in Vumë in Ghana, introducing wheel-made pottery and stoneware to local pupils, and at the same time developing and extending the range of his own work.
There were a lot of technical problems at Volta Pottery resulting in disasterous firings and few successful pieces.
This bowl is decorated with a pair of painted fish in black and red and has a green and red glaze.
