About MeThis small espresso cup of slightly conical form with sloping sides and plain loop handle is made of porcelain. It is glazed in a blue-green celadon glaze which is darker, almost teal coloured, at the handle. The glaze is thinly applied around the rim and handle edges, highlighting the shape. Inside it is glazed in a very pale blue celadon.

Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China and spread to other parts of East Asia. Iron oxide is added to create shades of pale green and blue and with the addition of a greater amount of iron oxide, in colours as dark as olive green and black.
