About MeAndy Goldsworthy creates site-specific structures in the landscape and because these sculptures are sometimes ephemeral, he records the event of their construction or destruction in photographs. Like Richard Long, Goldsworthy uses natural found materials, such as leaves, mud, stones or twigs, even snow.

'Sandstone Sea Hole' had the briefest existence, only momentarily enduring the incoming tide. This set of seven photographic prints captures the progress of the sea as each incoming wave changes a hole made in the sand. The artist explores the theme of the passage of time but the fact that we have all enjoyed this simple seaside game makes the work at once familiar and accessible.

Goldsworthy lives and works in Scotland.
