About MeKing Edward I or II imitation silver penny belonging to Aberdeen's St Nicholas Street hoard. Found in 1984, this hoard comprises 2538 coins, including coins from England, Scotland, Ireland and the continent, as well as 54 imitation coins.

Obverse: Forward facing crowned head with broad, curling hair framed with text inscription.
Reverse: Centrally placed long cross with three pellets in each corner and text ringing the outer edge.
Manufacture Method: Hammered
Condition: The coin is in poor condition, with signs of clipping and corrosion. It is a forgery of the Edwarra type, contemporaneous with legitimate Edward I or II sterling pennies Class 10. The reverse has clear central details and legible text, bar losses from wear and clipping. The obverse has a slightly smoothed and corroded king portrait and mostly legible text, bar heavy wear and corrosion in spots.
