About MeLessore was the daughter of Jules Lessore, a French painter and etcher who emigrated to England in 1871. She was a founder member of the London Group in 1914 and her husband, Bernard Adeney, became the President of the London Group in 1919. They were both aquainted with Sickert who wrote the preface to the catalogue for Lessore's first one-woman show in 1918. Sickert married Lessore in 1926
