About MeThis large, round plate or charger is decorated with a pearl blue glaze and an overglaze of hand-painted birds, flowers and bamboo. It is dated to the first half of the nineteenth century, during the Qing Dynasty. The Qing Dynasty spanned from 1644 to around 1912, and was the last imperial dynasty before the Republic of China was created.James Cromar Watt was an artist, architect and jeweller, who was born and lived in Aberdeen in the nineteenth and twentieth century. In his later life he became an enthusiast for Chinese ceramics and artifacts, and this dish was part of his vast collection.
