About MeAs one of the Barbizon School of artists Charles Daubigny is today regarded as second only to Theodore Rousseau in importance. Daubigny was one of the first to complete sizeable canvases directly from nature. Les Laveuses is representative of his best work in this manner, for it gives the impression of capturing the scene just in the moment that he saw it.
More About Me
Daubigny is hugely recognised for his importance in art development.  He enjoyed working outdoors, painting in the open air.  He also met and influenced Claude Monet and Paul Cézanne.
