About MeThis figure is based on the story of Ellen Bright, the Lion Queen, who was mauled by a tiger in 1850. Ellen, who was aged 16, was a great favourite with circus-going crowds, marvelling at her lion taming skills. Whilst performing at Wombells Circus, she momentarily turned her back on a tiger, which savaged her. After this tragic incident women were banned for many years from becoming lion tamers.
