About MeThe famous poet Robert Burns is depicted here with his great love Highland Mary. In this romanticised version of the two lovers, Burns wears an outlandish version of the kilt and Mary holds a volume of Burns' poems. This figure was modelled by Sampson Smith (1813-1878) who specialised in chimney-ornaments.
