About MeThe numerous minute cracks in the glaze of this vase are deliberate. The decorative effect is achieved by a difference in the rate of cooling between the glaze and the body when it comes out of the kiln. The Chinese developed the technique as early as the 10th century and reintroduced it in the 18th century.
