About MeKnudsen designed a 'high speed' water sample bottle in 1909, for use on ships under way. He tested this bottle on a voyage from Stavanger to Aberdeen. His design is still in use. The crushed bottle was mistakenly sent underwater closed and was compressed by water pressure.
