About MeAn almost square token on one side of which is inscribed the name of the church in two lines within a broad, plain border; the other side is blank.

The token bears no date but its basic style is typical of the 18th to early 19th centuries; it seems likely that it was issued about the time the church was built in 1794. This church, situated near the village of Newburgh, is still in use today.

The driving force behind the building of the new Foveran church in 1794 was The Rev. William Duff who was its minister for no less than 40 years. Mr Duff seems to have been an energetic character whose enthusiasm for change was not always shared by his kirk session.
