About MeIt was an ancient Chinese belief that the world one passed to after death was similar to the living world. Therefore, in order to maintain one’s status in the next world, a tomb should be provided with all the things one had used in this life. Chu His, writing about 1170 AD, explains that the grave should contain carts and horses, male and female servants, and all the things needed to care for the deceased. The objects should resemble those used in real life but be smaller.James Cromar Watt
