About MeThe rig sitting in calm waters in spring weather. It does not appear to be drilling at the time the image was taken.
The rig was built in 1973 by Mitsubishi and was towed to take up operations soon after in the North Sea. Two years later in 1975, as the US operators were against trade union representation on their installations, the rig became subject to a supplies embargo by onshore workers.
In 1983 it was the scene of an emergency when its towlines parted in heavy seas.
