About MeThe central panel of the robe is formed by strips of machine whitework insertion hand stitched together. The whitework features the traditional style of small flowers and buttonhole-edged flowers. The embroidery is entirely machine stitched.
The robe was first worn by Alexander Watt of Elgin at his baptism on 10 May 1891 and subsequently by his male descendants.
