About MeThis coffee pot was designed in 1963 by Robert Minkin at Wedgwood and continues their tradition of producing the black basalt wares first created in the 18th century by Josiah Wedgwood. This design was created as part of the Design ’63 project when chief designer Minkin and his colleague Peter Wall were encouraged by the company to develop a range of more modern wares to appeal to a younger market. The interior of the pot is glazed in black to aid cleaning.
More About Me
In 1963, Wedgwood asked designers Robert Minkin and Peter Wall to create ceramics like this coffee pot that would appeal to a younger market. It was influenced by Scandinavian design.
