About MeIn 1959, the designer Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband Euan bought Gray’s Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent and renamed it Portmeirion Pottery. In 1961 they took over another pottery, Kirkhams Ltd., and using old moulds from this factory Susan Williams-Ellis created new modern shapes such as this one, fittingly entitled 'Cylinder'. With its modern yet classical lines it suited this gold 'Greek Key' silk screen pattern which remained in production until 1983.More About Me
Designed by English pottery designer Susan Williams-Ellis who was best known for co-founding Portmeirion Pottery in the 1960's. Entitled 'Cylinder' this classic range remained in production for over 20 years.
