About MeThese tea bowls and saucers are decorated with gilt lace designs and well executed purple landscape scenes which are enclosed by palm leaves and scrolls surmounted by a vase with plants, forming a kind of mini-arabesque motif which was increasingly popular at this time. The lower register of the tea bowls and saucers is decorated by a series of vertical gilded stripes. These tea bowls and saucers are part of a porcelain tea service which includes a tea jar and a hot water jug, all with the same gilt fluting and lace designs as well as painted sprigs of flowers and landscape vignettes.
