About MeSet of eight bleu céleste porcelain cups and saucers with gilt decoration and polychrome floral reserves. There is a gilt dentil pattern around the rim. The bleu céleste ground colour is also known as bleu Hellot after the company's chemist Jean Hellot who invented it. Bleu céleste was first used in 1753 and was expensive. It is thought that the lace style gilding over the body was added during the nineteenth century.
