About MeA set of 6 fluted porcelain teacups and saucers decorated with the Jabberwocky pattern in ironstone red cobalt blue and green overglaze enamels and gilding. The pattern, now known as the Jabberwocky, was created by the Worcester factory in the 1760s. It is influenced by Japanese Kakiemon patterns, which traditionally featured brightly coloured enamels on a white ground. The Jabberwocky was a mythical, dragon-like creature from far eastern culture which was adopted and given its name by Lewis Carroll. It became the subject of one of his poems in Through the Looking Glass.
