About MeEmbroidered picture illustrating the Old Testament King David playing his harp. David was known as a skilled musician and author of many of the Psalms. This picture is atypical as he is usually depicted playing the harp as a young man in a pastoral scene or soothing the melancholic episodes experienced by King Saul.
Worked in satin stitch and long and short stitch and on a silk ground with hand painted details. The shrubbery and trees are worked in French knots.
