About MeA length of embroidered fabric worked in long and short and satin stitch. The raw edges down the sides show us that this fabric was probably a piece of Turkey Red dress fabric with a highly patterned design. It appears that someone has used the pattern as a scheme for embroidery, completely covering the printing in the same way that a transfer is used today. It is possible that it is simply a practice piece, or intended for framing as a decorative panel.
