About MeThe cup is presently attributed to William Scott the elder who was admitted as goldsmith Burgess in 1666. He was elected Deacon of the Hammermen in 1673 and 1678 and again in 1685. In 1688 his name appears heading a list of Banff hammermen and he appears to have left Aberdeen around 1690 to live in Banff. Stylistically the cup is similar to earlier cups and it is possible that it was reconstructed by Scott from a previous piece of work.
