About MeThis cream straw wedding hat with ribbon was worn to a ceremony at the General Register Office for Scotland, in Edinburgh, on the 30th of July 1976. The brides mother bought it for her daughter at John Lewis. It was further decorated with marabou feathers and silk flowers.
This outfit had an informal, simple quality to it. This straw hat was worn with a simple wedding dress, wedge shoes and a cream bag which would have added to the relaxed feel of the outfit. These items, and the groom’s suit, are held within the collections.
