About MeFrom 1920, Peploe regularly joined Cadell in his annual painting trips to Iona. These sojourns produced fresh, highly saleable seascapes and in addition had a reinvigorating effect on his art.During the previous decade, Peploe had adopted elements of the Cubist style - angled contoured lines, the interplay of objects and a shallow picture space. However, he understood the limitations of such a systematic approach and awaited 'new developments.' In a letter to Cadell, Peploe speculated: "When the war is over I shall go to the Hebrides and recover some of the vision I have lost."
