The inscription in the lower left corner reads "ABERDEEN, 28th November 1785. this is one of the DUPLICATES of the PLAN referred to in a TACK, Executive of this date, betwixt me, PATRICK BARRON of Woodside, on the one part; and us, ALEXANDER MILNE of Crimonmogate; PATRICK MILNE, younger thereof; JOHN DUGUID, Merchant, Glasgow; ALEXANDER MILNE, junior; JOHN GORDON, junior; and JAMES YOUNG, Merchant in Aberdeen; and the said PATRICK BARRON of the other part; of the Lands and others delineated on this Plan (Signed)".
The table of references is headed "N.B. Alterations since 1785, are tinted in Red." The references indicated on the plan are:
A: Intake sluices of Gordon, Barron and Co. as altered in 1787
