About MeThis Chinese bokara silk embroidered coverlet dates to the 16th century.

The top layer of silk is attached to a blue flecked cotton backing, probably added later as a consolidating layer. The silk is cream coloured and embroidered with a variety of plants and animals, all originally outlined in couched gold thread.
