About MeWilliam Robb was a goldsmith, and a native of Aberdeen. He settled in Ballater in eighteen-eighty and is thus known as 'Robb of Ballater'.

This small, cylindrical box features a reeded rim and foot, and the hinged lid is inset with a domed polished stone, possibly agate. The lid is inlaid with a mother of pearl salmon motif. The box is dated to 1911.

William Robb was a goldsmith born in Aberdeen who moved to Ballater in 1880 and was given the nickname 'Robb of Ballater'. The salmon is made from mother-of-pearl.
