About MeRebecca de Quin graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in nineteen-ninety, and since then has combined silversmithing practice with teaching. In her recent work, she has concentrated on jug shapes and pouring vessels. This jug has a scored and folded body, formed as a cylinder. As an upright form it would be simple and elegant, but its leaning characteristic makes us think about balance, stability and spatial awareness. De Quin is concerned with the sculptural qualities of the object, rather than its function.

But is it a jug or a sculpture? We are challenged to see both in this design. Either way, it’s safe to say that it's beautiful!
