About MeGeneral Sir Henry George Chauvel was a senior officer of the Australian Imperial Force. He fought at Gallipoli and in the Middle Eastern theatre during the First World War, and was the first Australian to become Lieutenant General and later General. Chauvel was also the first Australian to lead a corps.
