About MeDenis Law was born in Aberdeen 24 February 1940. He was a professional soccer player. He began playing for Huddersfield Town in the English League at the age of 16. Later he played for Manchester City and then Torino in La Liga. He quickly returned to England this time to play for Manchester United in 1962 and remained there until 1973 when he signed for Manchester City retiring in 1974. After his retiral he often made appearances on TV as a matchday pundit

He won a number of medals with his teams during his carrer and was awarded the Ballon d'Or 1965, as well as a CBE in 2016, honorary degrees from Aberdeen and St Andrews Universities in 2005, and 2017 from Robert Gordon.

In 2012 Law established the Denis Law Legacy Trust, that operates programmes and activities focussed around community engagement and widening sporting participation. The charity aims to reduce instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour; promote health and wellbeing and encourage inclusivity through sport, physical activity and creative endeavour.

He still lives near Manchester.
