Pilkington's Tile & Pottery Company

Salford, England, 1891 - 2010
About MeFirst established in 1891 Pilkington's manufactured wall, floor and fireplace tiles. At the turn of the 20th century they began experiments with a variety of glazes, and from 1906 developed an iridescent lustre glaze. Under the direction of Gordon Mitchell Forsyth, the pottery decorating department employed a number of well known artists and designers, who were encouraged to pursue their own style of decoration.
