Mintons Ltd

Stoke-on-Trent, England, 1793 - 1968
About MeOriginally established in Stoke-on-Trent in the late 18th century, Mintons Ltd became one of Britain's leading ceramic manufacturers. The company specialised in a variety of decorative wares, although tableware was its principal output. In 1902 the company introduced its highly popular Secessionist wares in response to the Vienna Secessionist Movement. Designed by Leon Victor Solon and John Wadsworth, these ornamental pieces in Art Nouveau inspired forms featured bright majolica glazes. The abstract floral patterns were generally outlined in trailed slip, known as tube lining.
