Old Aberdeen, extension of Geography building rear of 101 High Street

DescriptionWell uncovered during construction of the Geography Department. The upper two courses were of red brick, the lower courses drystone. It had an internal diameter of 1-1.5m and a surviving depth of 1.5m. A gravestone was found in the well; the inscription reads HEER LYES T… OE HENRY KIL… BVRGES IN ABD-DE… OCTOBER. 1660 HIS AGE 96 AND ELIZABETH ANDER…ON ... SPOVS WHO .. 1659.
