General History:
The largest vessel ever built in Aberdeen. THAMESHAVEN'S forward hold was suitable for container services. Its aft hold was refrigerated so that it could carry perishable foodstuffs.

First Master was Mr. Maan.
First Chief Eng. was Mr. Jansen
Design Mr. Bryan Urwin.

Sea trials June 1971, completed July 1971.

Late 1983 the vessel was taken out of operation because of the growing demand for container transport and the decline of general cargo.
She was laid up in the winter of 1983-84 in Hamburg Germany waiting for a new owner.
