About MeBy 1907 the waist of the Edwardian dress had begun to move up to what is known as the Empire-line. By 1908 the female silhouette had entirely changed. Dresses were more close-fitting, with corsetry giving women a less curved shape, compared to earlier in the decade. Costume overall was becoming less fussy at this point. Long trailing skirts and excessive trimming were beginning to disappear, but the bodice is still boned.
More About Me
A dress from a key moment in time when they were becoming more close-fitting and less fussy, abandoning the flowing material of previous decades.
