About MeThis dress was worn by an Aberdeen bride to her wedding ceremony held in her garden in Kings Gate, on the 7th of May 1921.

During the 1920s, dresses often featured apron-like tunics, overdresses or overskirts. Asymmetrical trimmings and draping’s were very popular, as were shorter wedding dresses, their length fluctuating from ankle-length to calf-length.

Although cream and white remained a popular colour choice for brides, pastel colours were also fashionable. Blue was especially popular as brides wanted to follow the old rhyme "married in blue, you will always be true".
