10/01/1864: Maiden voyage from London to Melbourne, arrived 15.04.1864.
16/05/1864: Connon & Dyer sell 4 shares to Robert Middleton, Aberdeen (builder).
14/05/1864: John Smith mortgages 16 shares to secure current account and interest
for £4,000 to the Commercial Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh.
21/11/1864: Registry closed. “Vessel sailed from Melbourne 2nd May 1864 & has
not been heard of since.

General History:
Built with timber from the Ballochbuie forest on the Invercauld estate.
28/10/1863: Launched. Named by Miss Smith, daughter of the shipbuilder.
02/05/1864: Vessel sailed from Melbourne for Callao in ballast and has not been heard of since.
10/05/1864: Wrecked on Auckland Islands. The survivors were marooned, master, first mate and one seaman survived for twelve months and ten days.

George Leslie, who was wrecked on the ship “Invercauld” 10 May 1864 on the Auckland Islands and died through starvation on 27 July same year with 19 of the crew, aged 17.
