About MeSilver communion chalice with smooth cup supported by hexagonal stem, mounted with gems on a spreading foot, the surface of which is mounted with moss agate and Scottish polished stones.

The cup was presented to the church in memory of Peter Cran by his widow at Easter 1900. Peter Cran helped to found St Fittick’s and served there as an elder.

James Cromar Watt (14 July 1862 – 19 November 1940) was a Scottish artist, architect and jeweller. He was also a collector and amassed an interesting collection of Chinese and Far Eastern works. He took particular interest in ancient precious metalwork, which had started during his early experiences in his grandfather's workshop.
