About MeTwo Halves of a Note Regarding Lodgings, Early Paper Ephemera. Note has been torn. Details having paid £1.10 for board and lodgings in Alford for a fortnight, paying this on 15 August 1904. According to his autobiography, McBey stayed in both Insch and Alford, as relief at branches, before moving to Edinburgh in September of 1904. It seems he stayed with a "G. Mair".

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this document.
