About MeArticle printed in The Morning Post on 28 April 1926, about the sale of Sir David Y. Cameron's "Ben Ledi" at Southeby's to the Fine Art Society, for a record price of £500. Until this point McBey's "Dawn: The Camel Patrol Setting Out" (see ABDAG002933) held the British record at £440. At this sale other etchings by James McBey were sold, such as "Gamrie" (see ABDAG001977) for £305, and "Penzance" (see ABDAG001542) for £200.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this newspaper article.
