About MeLetter to J. Harvey Loutit from James McBey, dated 16 December 1951. Three sheets.

McBey notes that, following a trip around the Highlands:

"I have concluded that those picturesque views of Highland scenery are the fruits of months of patience and careful stalking, by someone lying day after day on wet bracken with his shutter set to catch the scene during the few seconds when the veil is occasionally parted".

This object is part of a collection of personal correspondence to and from James McBey.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
