About MeLetter from James McBey to friend and art collector H. H. Kynett, dated 16 December 1944. The letter expresses McBey's embarassment at the price Kynett recently paid for his drawings. He states;

"I'm really embarassed. Here you send me for these drawings cheques for amounts far in excess of what I would have charged if you had the discretion to wait until I got up courage to send you a bill."

McBey also thanks Kynett for the "fantastic basket of the most astounding fruits", which he also felt was far too generous.

The letter consists of one sheet typewritten.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
