About MeFrieda is a fibre artist and maker working in Aberdeen. She is primarily a weaver and she also makes tufted items, macrame and embroidery. She grew up in a fishing village where she learned the technique of whipping which is used on fishing boats. This involves wrapping cotton with yarn and fixing it so it cannot fall out. She made this necklace using whipping.
She acquired huge cones of vintage wool which had originally been destined to be made in to tartan and she has used repurposed vintage wool to make this necklace.
